The qualifications for maple queen are as
follows:
Unmarried and between ages of 17-24, good oral
and written communication skills, knowledge of the maple industry in Wisconsin,
pleasant and courteous personality and a professional demeanor who interacts well
with people of all ages.

If you are chosen a few
of the requirements we would like to have you follow would be:
** participate at least one day at the state
fair in
** you will get a
years membership paid with our association
** do classroom participation at grade schools
on maple syrup during the maple season in the spring-when requested by schools
** attend the First Tapping on the first
Saturday in March
** attend Farm Technology Days, if we have a
booth
** attend open houses during the maple season.
Late March and early April
** attend dairy breakfasts
** attend our Fall Tour on the first Saturday
in October
** promote
** hold television, radio and newspaper interviews
and appearances
** there are always
other things that come up
If you are chosen you will have your gas
mileage covered to and from maple events that you were requested to attend
(within reason).
You will receive either $100.00 three times
throughout your reign or $500.00 after completing a semester while reigning as
queen at a college of your choice.
Other things will come up during the year’s
reign that you will be notified of. Throughout the year, parades, fairs, school
functions, and other speaking engagements may come up.
If you are asked to attend a function or speak
at say a club like Lions, Women’s Club, please contact Gretchen to get an okay
on this and also so that it can be put on the Queen Calendar of Events. This way we do not overlap
on certain days of attendance.
